Back up cards
This function transfers the recordings from your action-cam or drone memory card to a storage device in the SD Migrator. This way your videos are backed up before you use the card again.
Backing up a card – step by step
- Insert the card. You can use a card reader or connect the camera directly if it works as a USB mass storage device. If the card does not appear automatically, tap Mount.
- Tap the card in the left box (Source). If only one card is inserted, it is selected automatically.
- Set a label for the card: tap the dashed suggestion to accept it, or tap EDIT to enter your own label.
- Choose the target (see below).
- Tap COPY or MOVE. With MOVE, you must also confirm the operation.
- Follow the operation at the top of the page. There you can see the progress, current phase, speed and free space on the target.
- When it has finished, tap Eject safely. Only then remove the card.
Choosing the target
The active target is marked with ✓ TARGET. By default, this is the NVMe.
- The active target is shown at the top next to the Source and the COPY/MOVE buttons. All three boxes are the same height.
- The other target is shown below.
- Tap the lower target to make it the active target. The two boxes then swap places.
COPY or MOVE?
- COPY: The files are copied to the target.
- MOVE: The files are moved to the target. This requires confirmation.
Caution: Only choose MOVE if you no longer need the recordings on the card. If in doubt, use COPY.
Tip: Always eject the card with Eject safely before removing it.
