Daily preview

On the Preview page, the device turns the videos from one recording day into a video you can show to others. It is cut automatically, refined with Claude if you wish, and finished in the editor.

Calendar and recording days

  • A calendar page shows all days with backed-up videos. Use ‹ and › to move between the months that contain videos.
  • The number of videos is shown below each day. ▶ means there are already versions for this day. The GPX badge indicates an existing track.
  • Only videos with the camera’s matching LRV preview file are counted (Ace Pro 2, GO 3S and Insta360 X5).
  • All cameras for a day are combined. Every recording whose (corrected) time falls on that day is counted.

Below the calendar you will find:

  • an info line for the day (videos, size, cameras, versions),
  • the day’s GPX sources,
  • Upload GPX files and Import from “Upload”,
  • the list of GPX files,
  • the camera clocks.

Creating previews and versions

Create a preview

  1. Choose the length: 2, 3, 5 or 8 minutes.
  2. Tap Create preview. The device analyses the videos for motion, brightness and voice. The analysis runs only once per day. It then selects scenes evenly across the riding time. If a GPS track is available, twisty sections are preferred. The preview is rendered at 960×540.

New version with Claude

  1. Enter your requests in the text field.
  2. Tap New version with Claude.
  3. Claude returns a new cut, a title, a music selection, the original-sound setting and audio and video markers.

For this, Claude receives the list of scenes with their metrics (time, motion, brightness, voice and, with GPS, also speed, twistiness and position), small thumbnails, your previous versions with requests, replies and markers, and your music selection.

Tip: The videos themselves never leave the device.

Final render

Tap Final render. The same cut is then produced in 1080p from the original videos. With the Insta360 X5, both lenses are used.

Version list

Each version appears in the version list with length, title, request, Claude’s reply, music, original sound, comments and number of audio markers. There you can use:

  • View
  • Editor
  • Final render

Remix audio creates sub-versions such as 4a, 4b … – with the same picture and new audio.

The player has no tappable controls on the image. It is operated via its own control bar.

Requirements

  • Claude needs an internet connection. The initial cut and rendering also work offline.
  • Enter a Claude API key under Settings → Claude (daily preview).
  • Costs are billed to your Anthropic account.

Music

The music library is at the very bottom of the page.

Upload tracks

  • You can upload up to 20 tracks.
  • Permitted formats: MP3, M4A, AAC, WAV, FLAC, OGG, OPUS.
  • Each file may be no larger than 100 MB.

The library

Each row contains:

  • Selection (tick)
  • ▶ to preview
  • Title with length
  • Description – freely editable, e.g. “calm, evening mood”. It is passed to Claude.
  • Remove

Above the list are Select all/none and the player. The player stays fixed while the list scrolls independently.

How the music plays in the video

  • Only ticked tracks are used in the cut. Claude also chooses only from these.
  • Ticked tracks play one after another under the video, repeating if necessary.
  • Volume is normalised. Each track fades in over 2 s and out over 3 s.
  • The music automatically gets quieter when the original sound becomes loud. Under voice comments it is lowered considerably more.

Original sound

Choose one of the following for the original sound:

  • normal
  • quiet (−9 dB)
  • off

Music from a specific point

In the editor you can use:

  • ♪ Music from here – the music only starts at this point.
  • Song from m:ss – the first song starts later, e.g. to skip an intro.

Caution: Only use music you hold the rights to (e.g. with an Artlist licence).

Voice comments

Load comments

  1. Open the editor for the day.
  2. Tap LOAD.
  3. Select your recordings (M4A, MP3, AAC, WAV, OGG/OPUS, AMR …). File selection works in the browser and in the app from version 1.4.

Set the time

Each recording has a time. You can enter:

  • a position in the video, e.g. 1:45 or 0:01:45,
  • the time of day of the matching scene with “Uhr”, e.g. 14:32 Uhr.

Defaults:

  • Recordings from the riding day automatically get their recording time.
  • Recordings from another day get 0:00 and play one after another.
  • If you clear the field, the default is restored.

How the comments play in the video

  • Each comment plays where the scene matching its time appears in the cut. If that scene is missing, it plays at the next later scene, or at the end if necessary.
  • Comments do not overlap.
  • At the end, comments are moved forward so none is cut off.
  • Music and original sound are lowered under the comments.
  • Deselected recordings remain in the list but are not played.

GPX tracks

Add tracks

You have two options:

  • In the calendar, tap Upload GPX files. You can select several files at once.
  • Place the files in the Upload share (\\<Pi>\Upload or via WebDAV /dav/Upload) and tap Import from “Upload”.

What happens to the files

  • Each file is read once. Its source is detected and the data is split across days (by the device’s local time). A file may span several days.
  • The same file is not imported twice.
  • Route-Tracker files truncated at the end are repaired.
  • Planned routes without timestamps and damaged files are skipped and no longer offered as “new”.

Sources and ranking

RankSource
1BMW Motorrad Connected
2Route-Tracker (tablet on the motorcycle)
3Route-Tracker (iPhone)
4DMD2
  • For each day the best source is used. The next source only fills gaps longer than 30 s.
  • Beforehand, the clock of the lower-ranked source is matched against the track and any offset is corrected.

List of GPX files

The GPX files list shows the source and days of each file. Use ✕ to remove a file.

Use in the preview

  • Each scene gets position, speed and twistiness.
  • Claude can use this to act on requests about places, bends or stops.
  • The automatic selection prefers twisty sections.
  • Matching is based on the videos’ actual recording time.

Gentle operation

Rendering runs at low priority and with a throttled clock speed. This keeps the device cool and gives other tasks priority.

Rendering is only paused if

  • a copy or cloud job is running and the processor still exceeds 80 °C (it resumes below 70 °C), or
  • undervoltage is present.

Guide values

  • Preview: about 2.5× real time.
  • Final render from Insta360 X5 videos: about 6.7 s of processing time per second of video.
  • Remix audio: a few seconds.
